Waldorf Astoria in Ras Al Khaimah? — 4 Kommentare

  1. I recall in 1990’s before weekend breaks were part of UAE experience, travelling from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah and the magic of the Hilton.

Over the years it modernised and developed, with marvellous bungalows providing a private terrace, then one weekend my booking was wrong and I ended up back in main hotel, with a beachfront room, including balcony – thereafter my weekends became a lot more affordable and relaxing using the older style beachfront, with swaying palms & the ponderous lapping of the Arabian Ocean 🙂

My last stay was in 2012 and I do miss that aspect of UAE – tranquillity…..

    • Rupert, these were the good old days 🙂 You would not believe the hotels that have sprung up in RAK and along the East Coast. New World!

It is good that we have our memories!

      • Many had already been built during my time, such a shame that they do not blend in with the landscape & have the appearance of Dubai relocated to a spaghetti-western film set!

Even Fujairah city had succumbed to the building boom, of course many were delayed as global economic crisis bit hard.

  2. Liebe Sonja,
